Well Played Lions!
After postponing for almost a month due to the weather, the U10’s (Black and Red) finally had their Christmas social and played some bubble football -- It was great fun !
CHL U10's Coach has successfully finished his UEFA C coaching qualification!
Huge congratulations to Oke Odudu for this amazing achievement that will ensure effective sessions for our U10 Red team!
CHL U17's Black team had great fun on Saturday 09/11 when there wasn't a match. Instead they went to play golf in Cambridge as a team building session, where they had lots of fun !
Parents staying in the warm café whilst the team skillfully (sometimes 🤣) chipped, pitched and putted their way around the course - coming back to the club house full of smiles - a great team building event.
U9s (as in season 24-25) Reds got their season off to a flying start by winning the Liam Fairhurst Cup at the Cherry Hinton Lions Annual Tournament. After going unbeaten in their 6 group games, a solid semi-final win set up a tense final against Haverhill. Despite going 2-0 down in the first half, the boys showed great character to battle back in the second half, levelling the game and taking it to penalties. Happily, Lions goalkeeper managed to save 4 penalties to give Reds the win.
Thanks to all the volunteers who made the tournament happen, the boys had a fantastic day and are looking forward to next year's already!
U8s Reds were delighted to get their new home and away kits thanks to generous sponsorship from Biocair (https://www.biocair.com/). As well as the traditional home colours of red and black, the boys were excited to receive their new orange away kits.
Thanks also to All Wired (https://www.allwired.co.uk/) for sponsoring match and practice balls for the team this season.
The girls from the two U9's teams (Red and Black - mixed) joined forces to participate in their very first "only girls" tournament. With only one spot left within the U10's category, the lionesses decided to play a year up at the Histon Hornets annual tournament. We didn't know what to expect, thus setup for a fun football day. Unbeaten in their 5 group games and semi-final, they played the final against Priority Parkside U10G Yellow. It was a tough and even game that could've gone either way. Our outstanding goalkeeper made sure to keep the score in our favour despite the opposition shooting from every angle. Very well done to the lionesses and thank you to the Histon Hornets tournament committee for an amazing organisation. The girls had a wonderful time!
U8s were delighted to hear that Michai has accepted a place at the Cambridge United Academy. Michai was a key member of the team last season and deservedly won the Players' Player Award at the end of the season. While the team are all sad to lose him, we are delighted that his talent and competitiveness have been recognised by the CUFC coaches.

Everyone at CHLFC wishes him all the best for his future footballing journey..... good luck Michai!
